No idea if you guys already know, but MasterYoda's Camera XML is featured on VirtualR: http://www.virtualr.net/f1-2010-camera-mods-released/ hence it's been downloaded 2500+ times today :p

Hey! I gave, it is on my comments there and also on my video! :p

I think they choose my file because it is for a single monitor.

They are linking straight to the file here.

    You completely missed the point...

.You just forgot that there is nothing real with a 45deg angle and single screen.
.You don't have needed viewing references to drive properly.
.There is no speed feeling it your side views are blocked.
.You can crash on the cars beside you because you don't see them.
    .You don't see the apexes.
.There are other options for cams, like T-Cam, Chase, etc... They are free to chose, so what is the reason to say this is cheating if the driving view is free to chose from? :p

You should drive your car with a 45 deg. FOV on the streets and then come back to tell us what happened!

    Cheers,

I like it that way

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4tEcBj8EGk
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3flNaMTFvw

For console/gamepad arcade gamers, because it is easier to drive than real visor-view :D
Imo, everything but visor-view is cheating.

TrackIR should help to look to the apex.

I;ve just ordered gtx480. Is the dx11 overrated? Is there huge difference in the F1 ledfoot between dx11 and dx9?

Oh, no that's not what I meant! All I meant to say is that they were linking to the XML with MasterYoda's settings.
I know you're the one who invented it (or atleast brought it to our attention):p

Hey don't worry, I was just joking! And I did not create this tool. I found it on the web when trying to mod dirt 2 cams. :)

    Hey Brother,

You know these videos prove NOTHING, right? This is just a joke from you, right?
You know very well these cameras have low FOV, probably less than 40 deg.
Hum... Maybe the developers of the game don't know that either and reproduced what they saw in these videos? LOL

The drivers actually see about 3x that FOV! ;-)

    Cheers,

    MY

I wouldn't say it's a HUGE difference but there are certain effects that are much nicer with dx11 enabled. for instance, racing in heavy rain, you can see more detailed water on the tires as well as puddles of water on the track which look more realistic with dx11 than with dx9.

    @Masteryoda

Of course the driver' FOV is much larger than in the videos. I am not arguing about that.
I just want to point out, that a cam position >30cm above the drivers head is not realistic, as long as you aren't a giraffe.

Perhaps you could get a more realistic view for tripple screens if you'd hoover the cam view just a little further to the wheel, to get rid of the chassis which blocks the view to the sides, but keep the cam as low as by default.

The videos show that the drivers hands block the drivers view when driving sharp corners. If placing the cam 30cm above the drivers head, you dont have that problem for sure. But is is realistic then?
And of course you can see more of the track in front of your car with an elevated cam position, but is it realistic?

That Anthony Davidson guy in their dev team has been driver in the F1 world championship, so I guess he should know how the view behind a F1 wheel looks like.

    Hi Egoexpress,

I like these FOV pretty much and I am actualy using a very similar one in IRacing which I think have the best cam positions of current available sims. But I don't think it's possible to reproduce it in F1 2010. I tried a lot of cam settings and could not achieve to reproduce this kind of FOV. Also, I agree that using some of the alternate FOV (girafe style :D ) on projectors setup should be a little weird because the bottom of your image is much more near to the ground. But on typical 3x lcd setups where the monitors are elevated, it's very cool ...

Anyway adjust it to your own taste... that's why I shared the tool ... :)

Here are other cams I am working on... (rename to camera.xlm)

If your hardware can support dx11 at near 50-60fps then it should blast away dx9 visuals. But in my case I actually find that the visuals are prettier on dx9 with settings maxed out and 4xAA because it's much smoother... (dx9@48-54fps and dx11@35-40)

yes bleco, i know what you mean.

Do you use nvidia control panel to force the graphics on the game or do you set the graphics withint the game.

Ati uses Catalyst control center ... not Nvidia control pannel ... :)

And I set up graphics in game but dx9-11 must be set in hardware config file under
    Documents\My Games\FormulaOne\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config.xml

Remind that dx11 is still not officially supported in F1 2010.
