@bsft - yes 2.0 is taking a bit to complete, so I thought I’d fix a few things in the mean time.

Thanks for this - I think it will now support my prototype :)
As a question for us newer followers: does this update need more credits to download again? Or is there some updater program which I have missed? I am still getting my head around this system ;-)

not sure how to add a review of the simtools download link like the others did, but its great software, copy/paste over 1.2 to go to 1.3 and off you go.

@yobuddy I don't know if it's appropriate to post it here, but I got a request for SimTool:

Would it be possible to have on the tray icon (right click on Game Engine) a new voice to reset all of the axis?

Usually when exiting a game the seat is never at its starting position (zero on all axis), so I have to open SimTool, go to Output Testing, then turn on, turn off, close SimTools...
Or open JRK conf utility and for each device set target to 0...

Maybe it was already in the plans for 2.0, thanks anyway for this amazing software!

Just a small bug I've found when setting up SCN's, maybe it's already reported, maybe not..

In Game Engine at Interface settings, when writing custom numbers for Speed and Acceleration in the text boxes near the sliders - it doesn't take any effect, nor the sliders move. You write the numbers, press Enter, press Save, restart Game Engine and it will be still the old numbers. It only works if using sliders or small arrows, but sometimes you need to fiddle with the mouse and clicking to get an even number, it's faster just writing it. But it's not a big deal anyway, just an 'heads up'. :)

    Hi!
I'd like to ask that it is possible to install Simtools on Windows 10?

No harm in trying. But to be honest there are bound to be some problems along the way with something when running Win 10 with SimTools, games, peripherals, hardware like the Rift and all the other things people may use, as thus far Win 10 is not a stable platform.

Win 10 needs to be tested but I can't see a day to day advantage until it is stabilized. When it is improvements like DX12 will come into their own, but for now it creates problems with things like the Rift, which for me is an essential part of my motion rig.

    Thx for ur reply.
So, if I understand well that Simtools should work with Win 10, but we need to wait for a more stable version of W10?

I am certainly going to wait. I am sticking with Win 8.1 for now, not because of SimTools but because of the Rift. I know many here still run their motion rigs on Windows 7 and the old adage applies, if it ain't broke don't bother fixing it.

DX12 will debut with Win 10 and DX12 certainly has advantages for 3D gaming. But even there games have to be made to take full advantage of the improvements DX12 offers.

Early adopters have to expect bugs. Our rigs are complex systems that use almost every aspect of a computer simultaneously, so if there are no real advantages to early adoption in my view it is not worth the potential problems.

Another bug (i think) which I couldn't work out for MONTHS but stumbled across it somewhere in your forums recently:
SimTools 0.1.3.0 WILL NOT talk to SCN adapters if they are above COM10! (Even though you can select COM>10)

I hooked up my Oculus to my development rig (which needs about 70,000 COM ports) and then SimTools stopped moving. Once I found out that glitch, I assigned the adapters to COM1 and COM2, and restarted to force the other crap onto different COMs, and BOOM, happy VR pants-bulge.

Perhaps this can be highlighted anywhere that SCNs are mentioned (here, the SCN5 wiring guide, etc)... and your V2 software may need to address the issue, or restrict users choosing COM10+ (or perhaps a pop-up note saying that it wont work).

I know there's a post somewhere that I stumbled across that mentions this but PLZZZZZZZZ highlight it more officially somewhere as it is a killer :'(
