Perfect, that's what I would do too, I just need confirmation again, thanks!

What is the difference between Simtools license and the one you can buy here for 59€, or do I need both?

With the shift to the v3 plugin repository system, licensing has moved from Xsimulator to SimTools. In the transition period a valid licence can be used on SimTools v2 and v3, and both can be installed on the same computer.

You could use both with a single license if you want, but if you are just starting out it is likely v3 is a bit easier and covers most games, plus the devs are still adding plugins for it.

I don't think I was clear enough, request a refund as that is for plugin access for v2, you want the license direct from SimTools which if you use v3 also integrates plugin access.

It's all very confusing here, I wonder if this is intentional. I wouldn't even know where exactly I need to request a refund. Would I only have access to all V2 plugins with the v3 license?

No, to have access to the v2 plugins you need both, though you can earn forum activity coins as an alternate way to access v2 plugins: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/coins-and-how-to-download-plugins.2/

These are the plugins v3 currently has: https://simtools.us/plugin_library/

It is confusing as there is a history pre v3: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/simtools-and-xsimulator-partnership-explained.275/

But as of v3 Beta plugins are now integrated and not backward compatible with v2.
