My 6 DOF with ODrive

    Yes, the 3D model moves, but I tought that when you were driving across a long straight road, it would slowly return to its Original position to get redy for a next turn in the course, but it doe't seem to do that, does it have something to do with filters?

    Yes.
    Just for starting, you need to filter yaw.
    Use the last filter on the list. LP(LP(HP)).
    And set the left value to 40 and right one to 300.
    This is just for starting, you have to adjust them. They are new and I have not much experience with the recommended values.
    Those are the number of samples used to filter the signal for low pass and high pass.
    You can enable the graphic just for yaw and adjust the filter so the movement fit's your rig.
    Also don't forget to check rollover (should be by default).

    If you see the rig go out of range, for a fast adjustment, you can check the auto range on the actuators.
    This lowers gain automatically, each time the rig goes out of range.
    Uncheck later, or a simple crash makes the gain lower and lower and become completely unusable. Zero movement.

    The tubes are bend 120°, first I wanted to do the same angle as my chair (±100°) but I knew that the more you bend the tube the worst the bend looks so I dicided to do it 120° because this also caused the bend to be close to the frame which looks kinda cool.

    Hi, the 'sunken' frame is because its now rotating around it's center of gravity so the motors are being less stressed. I used steel tubes ±∅35mm and a wall thinckness of ±3mm.

    Guten Tag Carelsbergh,

    Very nice project. I really appreciate the machining and welding you are doing with the motion platform and seat structure. Very nice work!
    Especially interesting is the use of "universal joints" for your actuators. Are these used on one end of the Actuator, with a Rod End on the other end?

    Hello Carelsbergh,

    Thank you for the comments on the universal joints for your project. I see now that you are using a Linear Actuator, so it makes sense to use such a coupling.

    Question: How much "noise" does the linear actuator make? I assume that it is Servo driven.

    For high displacement platforms some users are using special bearing u-joints with 360 rotation ability.
