    @RacingMatt,

I have done a little research, and it looks like my 2nd Arduino UNO is in fact a copy. So looks like I will be ordering a genuine one from a decent supplier. Thanks for the help

Some times its a gamble when buying no genuine. Oh well for the price ya get two , ones gotta work.

More progress, Now I can start the game, and when I do the Rx comes on on the Uno so I assume it is receiving info from GameDash, but nothing other than the power light comes on on the TM1638.

    Hi @Nath Older
I'm trying to set this'll as well All I get so far when I plug the arduino usb in is the word "dash" appear on the display for a few seconds then nothing.

However the arduino and tm1638 work flawlessly with assetto corsa with the in game app

Have you tried with different games yet ?

    Hi @Nath Older
if its just rfactor you want to set this up for then take a look here
    http://batrako.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/new-version-of-tm1638-hud-released.html

the same code will work with:-
    rfactor 1
    rfactor 2
    Project cars
    Iracing
    Assetto corsa

I had to change the first line of code from this #define REVERSE
    to this //#define REVERSE

so the tm1638 display was the right way up
and now trying to find a way to make the display show mph instead of kph
but it works hope this helps

I remember I had ard code for tm1638 and it was displaying MPH but I wanted KMH, so there was a line where I needed to add a multiplier for MPH, it was something like MPH * 1.6 or something like that.. So you could use that KMH that you have and divide it with 1.6 or whats the correct nimber.. Don't know for sure if this would be helpful to you..
