New linear actuator design

    Yes, I agree. My U-joints are also almost straight in the middle position. The first picture in post #32 shows the mounting pieces for the U-joints which have a 30° angle.

    Well, the first 6 of the 12 actuators worked right away in Sven's rig. But unfortunatelly, I've been very busy so the other 6 were lying around in my workshop without being really finished, so far. But today I finally managed to get some spare tome to re-activate the project.

    We had some problems with one of the bushings seizing so we ruined one of the ball nuts. I tried to repair it but gave up and ordered two new ballscrews and 3 of the bushings. Murphy says if you have some spare parts the probability of getting everything right without broken parts is much higher...:D
    But wait. Ah damn, I've lost some of the countersunk screws for the pulleys.:thinkI still cannot fnish the last actuator and have to order some more screws...:(
