Call up Element Jem, they should either send you a new pot or RMA the current one's. Thats what i did and they were pretty cool about it.

One of my Pots Completely Seized up, Multiple times. I could remove the little C clip and work the pot free (all be it with a BIG AS* Crescent wrench) and even after seizing it a few times since switching to the plastic pot mount's it hasn't seized yet.

Other pot didn't feel Great but also is still technically working, Will be RMA'ing both of them with a basic lesson learned, FLEXIBLE mount Required.

Or look into these which were suggested to me in my thread.

Its already ordered from digikey. pot still feels nice and smooth though. I was just getting ready to change mounts too. Lesson learned.

Which do you recommend? Don't need a ton of movement, just want it fast and strong.[/QUOTE]

Ok speaking from a seatmover perspective 65mm is tons of movement, I actually setup like the pic below.
Im only using 76 deg of the movement and it can use this in about 0.1s, to go from top to bottom, a little too quick.
But I recommend setting up on 50mm , and make sure you can extend your connecting rods too, so that you can test the others, and make a decision for your self.

Ok, some success and some aggravation today.
I am using two usb extension cables to run from the computer in front of sim to the jrk's in back. They both have shorts in them, they are cheap cables.

I was able to fire up a motor in the jrk utility though. Very impressive.
Nice and smooth motion and very quiet, cant even here it moving. The fans are much louder than the motors.
Time to start learning simtools this week, and possibly some playtime next weekend if all goes well.

Im new to sim racing, bought rfactor last month and bought rfactor 2 the other day. Its gonna be tough going back to rfactor 1 now.

Racing the Karts in rfactor 2 is a blast! My daughter was racing for hours yesterday. It is very impressive.

Everything up and running today! Installed rfactor plugins. Rfactor worked well, took a little while to get rfactor2 working. Had to force myself to shut it down, my heatsinks are not here yet and I dont want to fry my boards.

I will start learning to adjust profiles in the meantime.

I did notice when motors were working real hard like offroad or crashes I had a motor go down twice. Any ideas? I dont know if its a jrk setting, or maybe just overheating without the heatsinks on.

@jem45472 , could be a number of things,
Yes, start with heatsinks and fans on JRK for sure, could be a spike and that fact they are running hot.
Next thing to look at is motor settings and PID, also feedback settings. It could be spiking out on a error. Check the error tab of utility to see which is coming up.
Come to think of it, what settings are you using? can you post pics of utility tabs?

How long did you run it for ? I got mine up to 180 with no shut down. then again i did have a fan going on them at a bare minimum. Im sure they'll be find once you get the sinks on em. =)

    In utility
PID period increase to 20 ms
    intergral limit to 5000
    analog samples to 512

    Game engine settings.
    HW start 10ms
    packet rate 20ms
    HW stop 10ms

    try that perhaps
