$599 USD is more than I thought. I see they've included an xbox one controller just so they can bump the price up a bit. Then you have the touch to buy at a later date.

    I'm out.

The exchange rate screws you almost £100 extra if you are from the UK at the checkout. It goes to 499 GBP even though $599 USD = 410 GBP.

Palmer has been softening up people for a significant cost, but even so many are shocked on the /r/oculus and combined with the computer hardware costs it is a significant investment given Touch is separate.

Tax and shipping really hurt for those outside the US.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Vive costs, as they have lighthouse, controllers and inbuilt camera.

I am having a problem ordering. I get it saying "Something went wrong. Please try again." when I try to complete the cart.

    Anyone else getting this?

I did initially, try emptying your cache.

Or if it is at checkout I just kept submitting and it eventually went through.

Okay, So I cleared my cache and it said that I have already ordered one.

If I go to my recent orders I see the rift there but there is no estimated total, is that what you guys see if you go to recent orders? (It is up under order history on the top right of the page)

Interesting notes regarding Touch needing FCC approval and caveat about future availability, suggesting it still has a long way to go:

You should have a confirmation of order like the picture I just posted, with an Order Number, I just scrubbed my number from it.

I also have a confirmation email.

Hmm. I never got that page or a confirmation email, even though it says I have pre-ordered it in my order history.

I am not sure if it went through properly or not

I'm sure I'll have to upgrade my GFX card too that would put this venture closer to $1600 in the end. Wowzers. Kind ofd disapointed, I had hoped it cost closer to $400 US.
