Like Oscar said "I can resist everything but temptation" so bit the bullet and bagged an April slot.

    742€ for Italy (699 + 43 shipping)
They chose for me: I'll wait for HTC and then make a decision.

I would have paid 500/550€, not 200 more euros

It is not clear what currency is used. I believe it is US $649, which with shipping is over AU $1100.

In the the first picture I posted of my order it clearly states March shipping, but when I refresh online now it is say April. It really is a stuff up combined with the lack of clarity over currencies.

Seeing the backlash about the price is pretty funny on twitter.

Basic stuff done wrong by oculus. If you're going to overprice an item, at least give the public plenty of warning. Don't ship a half finished product with doubts about both the price and availability of it's accessories. Shipping dates have now moved to May. Are they doing it in batches? Again, something they've not made clear to the public.

They're making a serious mess of trying to defend the price variations in different currencies. Someone's made a serious mess of the exchange rate prices.

Hmm. I am wondering if mine went through okay then. I have emailed Oculus Support so I will see what they say.

I refreshed and now it says shipping in May...another debacle like with the DK2 pre-orders!

I was always getting both but for those who have to choose it is smarter to wait and get further information on the Vive and then compare.

sounds abit rubbish all this today, but if they sold out that fast then it can only lead to the price sticking.
this is why i didn't like the hold back info as you just didn't know what to save for in advance.
yes its months away but still need time for alot of people.
this vr thing can get very intresting as it puts the rest of us in the time scale of other options by the time we can get one anyway to order.
now if nobody orderd they would bring the price down alot ! lol ( when will we learn ) :)

Good chance mine is actually May by the time it was processed, from passed experience with Oculus I will believe it when it ships. Not really stressed, had not really planned to even wake up that early to place a order. At lest some of the bugs/issues should be sorted by then:rolleyes:. Did we really expect Oculus to have run this smoothly, I don't even expect to see it in May...

    Howdy all !!!

I got mine ordered at 16:05 UK time, £529 the total price. I was thinking it was going to be around £400 so with the import taxes and shipping £529 its not that far off. I was buying it no matter what the price was.

Only problem I had for my expected shipping date was "Q2 2016" I did not get a month which is wierd, there are a few others on reddit with the same so I will have to see what happens but I was within the first 6 minutes so hopefully it will be March.

    Happy VR day everyone :p
