As said, I'm not sure Lighthouse can be used on a motion rig : if the lasers move with the rig, the constellation remains the same because the projected images will be different and tracking may be weird. I hope I am wrong but it seems unlikely.

Oculus have already stated that there would be no shortage of units. So you have to say that if anyone is stupid enough to pay crazy money on a pre order slot (which they could still buy on the oculus rift website for the rrp) on ebay that they should be allowed to. Letting people make mistakes is a good way of teaching them something. I don't know what's worse. The people who list the items, or the people willing to buy.

I am hanging on to my collection also, the DK1, 2 DK2 and the GearVR. I will add the CV Rift and Vive this year.

I regret I didn't back it. Missed it.

I feared - and I still do - I would loose money with something I couldn't enjoy because of my presbyopia. I know nobody that has got to test it, so I just have to buy it and... cross fingers. Just as a test, if I put my smartphone close to my eyes I can't read a thing...

The optics are very different to putting a phone near your eyes.

At this stage a second hand Rift holds its value so you should not do too badly if you choose to sell it.

dk1 will stay as is for me. I'll look to tinker with the DK2 in the future. I can see a rift up project coming out down the road.

I can imagine one day seeing the DK1 in a tech museum... Or will we actually see the DK1 or will the Rift CV8 give us a 3D video of what the DK1 looked like.... :D
