Joined up (and started posting) just to give my little update on the software and to say thank you to the creator. I have no idea how much time has been put into this but it's a pretty big deal :D Thank you!

I used a Reverb G2, had to finagle with it for about a half hour but it's working. However I need a solid mount for my controller first which i'm pondering on.

It would appear the reverb g2 doesn't use the led's on the controller to track motion(it certainly uses them for something), but it uses the flex of the controller or something instead?

I don't think i'm grasping exactly what's happening, maybe LED's give position, then internal sensors give wrist movements etc. I am in the early stages but I have it working now after Iracinged crashed several times.

This really isn't an issue but the reason I come to this conclusion is, if the led ring is mounted solid, and I jiggle the "handle" it moves the screen heavily. The ring on the controller doesn't move during this though.

The Reverb uses inside out tracking, where multiple cameras in the HMD get views of its entire surroundings, combined with markerless tracking, where machine learning algorithms then determine where the headset is positioned within that 3D map, using feature detection to reconstruct and analyze its surroundings.

The Reverb does indeed use the LEDs in conjunction with machine learning algorithms to determine where they are positioned within that 3D map.

If the position of the environment is known then the movement of the controller relative to that environment can be deducted to cancel the motion of the rig, when the controller is mounted to it.

As I was re-reading my post and your reply the inside out cameras almost hit me in the face. I was thinking year 2000 tech, and not 2015 tech. Cameras don't need *sensors* to see, fail on my part haha.

Thank you, but it is still crashing even after deleting the .ini file, and the mount is sturdy. It is crashing even before application is able to create a new .ini file (it crashes as soon as I press system button on the remote to invoke the SteamVR UI from within the headset - before I can even see a screen with the OVR Settings button.

Is there another common reason for this problem?

Hi, to what i can see the controller doesn't move at all or it doesn't vibrate from what i can see.
in mean time this is what happens in video please note that the complete flip of image it started happening only today.
Maybe it can give a better idea, and wanna try everything before considering moving to thanos and flypt and extra cash.
    Thanks a lot

Sorry for the many posts but seems this forum won't allow any edits of the messages after 1 minute.
Here is a better (i hope) video to show you what is the main problem at the moment

Your mount is most likely the issue. Velcro is to soft. It causes the controller to shake and move. The mount has to be sturdy. Like welded on. Even the slightest movement is catched from the sensors.

Question - App was working great for many months and appeared in SteamVR settings for activation as it did since day 1...but now it no longer appears, cannot activate. I only see Vive and ReVive available where there used to be a third selection for this app.

I've downloaded the latest version and it installed/updated in the same location where it's always resided. Can't say if the update caused this...but after many reboots and searches I still cannot find/see the app when I bring up the SteamVR settings where it used to live.

Sorry if there was a change in the software/app location/activation path and I missed it...have searched back through this thread and many others and not seeing a resolution. Any ideas what may be going on? Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide.

Just figured out what was causing this...I had to opt into SteamVR beta for something Quest2/Virtual desktop related...when I launch SteamVR (non-beta version)...all works perfectly with the OpenVR motion app. Figured it was something stupid I was doing.

While I'm typing...thank you Dschadu for this incredible app!! Works great with my sim and helps me to justify with the wife all the crazy money I've invested in my rig. Thank you!

I feel like im missing something, I don't notice much of a difference between it being on, and off. I have verified it's definitely on, should there be a massive difference? Maybe I just need to fine tune it some more or something.

It depends a bit if you have a small or large axis movement rig. Correctly set up it should be compensating for the movement of the rig.

Please upload your logs to a service like pastebin. User Xammux confirmed this morning that OVRMC is working with both beta and non beta SteamVR versions.

Thanks a lot for the effort, i am building my motion rig and look forward to use it.
It would be really nice to test the motion compensation by sending it some numeric values.
So for example, tilt 25°, roll 10° without the use of a controller.

    Is this possible?

Total format of windows 10 and fresh install again

Still got the same error from steam and blockade and no start.. Now i believe it is the program or the HMD is not supported for this program i did see one thing in a log file from motion compensation it was ( Hmd Not Found (108) ) Is it possible we can add support for Vive Cosmos ?

Hey mate, it's not useful if you report your problem in four different places. How about answering my question in discord?
