Haha,we actually get our Ballscrews from the same manufacturer..... I did contact them Yesterday afternoon to inform them about the slight bend.... I asked that for the next order to QC the rods on straightness before shipping so that i don't need to straighten them myself...
Cheers and thanks again for the reply

hello my friend, I'm really inspired by your actuators design, I started to biuld my own with the same servomotors and the principles of your design. my first build was a 2Dof with traction loss and have been working pretty good the last 2 years. can you please tell what doccumentation should I read to calculate de exact dimmentions of the base and the upper platform? thanks!

It's a very small bend, you'll really just notice it when it is setup without the tube. Also when you roll it on a flat surface, you can see the gap between the table and the screw when a light is placed behind it.
When i fully assemble the actuator, it seems to forcefully keep it in check. But when you run it in fast mode and hold the actuator, you can feel the vibration. I will straighten it tom. and test again :)

Hmm.. Strange.. i have seen some other people with wierd wobbles. Is there anyway you can check the straightness of the screw at all?
Maybe post a video if you can so wee can see :)

Yes, After I noticed the Wobble, I dis-assembled the Ballscrew and did 2 checks... the first simple one would be to roll it on Glass, then shine some light behind it. First thing you'll notice when you roll it fast, is that you hear a rythmic sound instead of a constant... Then when you shine the light behind while rolling. you can see that the gap under fluctuates. The second test would be to place the ballscrew between two bearings , then you roll it while having a Dial measure the fluctuation (watch the 3rd Video below)

This was the wobble at medium speed

The C5 should only have a fluctuation tolerance of 0.025...... Mine had 0.24, seems small , but it compromises the ball screw at high speeds when fully assembled

I am now building this... It actually is not expensive. You can use a 1 ton Arbor press( which is about $60) and also much shorter rails.. with this, I can make sure I get the tolerances correct. better smoothness and less noisy.

This was my actuator after the initial straightening with my crude device. It needs a little more but pretty much reduced the wobble tremendously.... I will do another pass when i finish making the new straightening device

Hi, I just bought Flag Ghost's belt tensioner and was going to use the same motor as you did as I have the same motors for my actuators. I was wondering if you could share your modified motor pulley stl, and also could you add a link to the motor with white controller and also the motor bracket. Cheers

This is where we get the motors and also motor brackets etc... https://www.aliexpress.com/store/3223052?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_home.pcShopHead_36126704.0

With the modified Pulley stl, I also purchased the same from Ghost, I did the modification of the spindle on Fusion360, but please check it ... the 90st' shaft dimension is 16h7 while the 80st is 19h7 . when i enlarged the shaft hole, the key hole got quite close to the outer wall, Cura left a layer gap on the key slot. Though there really would not be any mechanical pressure there , I may still close it with cured resin or epoxy.....

If you have a zip file that should upload, but if it does not I am guessing it must be pretty large. If that is the case a file host and link is an option, or our site admin @RaceRay may be able to help out, as I am sure members would appreciate access to the STLs.
