    I replaced the 47K SMDs with 1K SMDs at transistor #2.
    Fired up RnR13Test and I get nothing from transistor #2, the LED on the valve is much dimmer than before?

    I returned transistor #2 to a 47k resistor and the LED is back to being bright again but of course the valve does not operate.

    YEA! IT WORKS!

    The solution was to lower the 5.1k plugging resistor to a 3.9k plugging resistor.

    Would it be a better solution for me to try to raise the value of the surface mount resistor and put the plugging resistor back to 5.1k?
    Should I replace all of the 5.1k resistors with 3.9k resistors?

    Man I’m happy!
    Thanks allot guys!
    Here are a couple of pic's of my Valve Control Unit all put together.

    Nice artwork ;)

    Perhaps this plastic case recuces the valve switching noise a bit, if enclosed to the sides, as well.

    Congrats! Keep at it!

    EDIT: Btw, arent the BD649 available in your local shops?

    @sirnoname
    I completely removed the 5.1k resistor leading to the transistor with a simple cable link and replaced the 47k surface mount resistor with a 1k resistor. The results are quite excellent and provide a nice snap to the relay in the valve.

    @egoexpress
    I was unable to locate the BD649 transistors here locally; even my online sources do not stock them. Most of the parts found around these parts are manufactured by NTE it seems.
    Well, looks like I may complete these boards without any transistor burns on the fingers. :D

    I'd like to now, when you are going to start your project thread in the DIY section. How far is your frame?
    Looking forward to it ;)

    Currently the prototype is only about 30% done, since I’m building it at a friend’s workshop, I’m at the mercy of his schedule. That’s mainly why I built this unit so I could start working out the bugs. Once the frame gets a little farther I’ll start my thread for sure.

    Is there any special way I should go about getting the unit up to pressure once the cylinders are attached? It seems, if I don’t pressurize the whole system before I try to use it, the first time a valve opens it is going to move fast – lol.

    Thanks for all your help ego!

    Never mind. It is not neccessary. Just plug'n'play ;)
