@shannonb1 This movement is from the joint, there is no loose in it. I'm going to make the panhard style rod to stabilize the twist. What did you mean to "have slop in your bolts holding it together" ?

Because a u joint by nature is only designed to move in 2 directions. You actually have an additional twisting DOF with yours. This makes me thing that the u joint bolts could be lose and have slop or play in them. Think of a u joint like a knuckle. Your finger only bends straight. A u joint does the same but goes straight and then imagine turning it 90 degrees to front ot back and side to side. That twisting you have makes me think the seat, the joint, the mount..something isnt tight and its allowing the twist.

Even better think about it like the thumb stick on an xbox control. It goes forw/back and side to side...sure it can also go for left, forward right back left and back right but AT NO time does teh thumb stick rotate clockwise or counter clockwise...if it did your control is broken. Using a U joint or Steering Joint should allow for that movement Im seeing. SOmething has to be loose.

I agree with @Nick Moxley and @shannonb1, that looks too flimsy.

You should also have the larger more robust U joint as close to the seat as possible.

You can always use an motor mount and a couple of rods also.
Being that a motor mount is pretty heavy rubber, it adds a bit of upright tension to a heavier simulator.
Unfortunately these are the best pictures I have of my old sim and this kind of setup.
    pic8.jpg

Notice the arms are attached inline with the motor mount. And the arms are attached high enough on the frame so they bend in the same relative plane as the rubber motor mount. (or you may get some pinching)

    pic0.jpg

The arms attach in the back of the chair also inline with the motor mount.
-by rods I mean threaded rod with an aluminum tube sleeve and ball end bearings on the ends.
Sorry I don't have better pictures of it.

I did the change that @noorbeast suggest, look at the video and the picture.
I test with an 80kg guy, and the u joint looks fine, maybe to a heavier guy I need change the u joint.

Second thought, you have your motors really wide. You also have your motor arms on the inside. In general I find I have better performance when my motor arms are mounted on the outside.

    Nice.
One suggestion, move your head closer... it's behind the virtual neck. You can also bind buttons to do it

@Blame73 In the image maybe seems that i'm in the wrong position but in the headseat looks fine.

@Guillemin in the first time it's little strange but you get used to it.
