Nice Job Chris, I have been reading this site for months and just had to comment on you're rig, Love it. Have you taken any more videos?

Do you happen to have a 80/20 part list of the peices you used? It's very hard to source in australia without having to order the parts needed, dont know where to start.

    Cheers,
    Kurt

Driftiger Grund - cooles Wortspiel, genau mein Rallygeschmack  ! Was genau meinst Du ? Macht echt was aus, alleine vom Sound her.

Ersatz in Form von was ?

    Chris

    Hi Kurt,

    thanks for the commendation !
I will take some more videos with the latest version of my sim, but until today I haven't had the time to do that... but stay tuned ;) !

Unfortunately I don't have any plan or partslist, because I've built it totally from the scratch. It's grown more and more and I haven't set up a storyboard. And also unfortunately I'm not sure, where you could order those parts in Australia... you should open a new thread and ask the members here in the board - I think there will be someone who can help you !

    Good luck :hi: !

    Bye, Chris

Look forward to seeing the video :)

Thanks for the feedback I looked into t-slot parts last night, the plan is you can design it in autocad with an add-on from 80/20 that can generate an order from the parts selected.

I like the idea of having no welded parts so it can be changed at any one time. I look forward to starting and contributing back to the forum.

    Hallo Chris,

Meld Dich einfach, wennst was brauchst... :hi:

    Ciao,
    Chris

    Hi Tobi,

ich denke, EIN Posting bzw. Thread dazu reicht ;D - hier helfen Dir alle gern !

    Ciao,
    Chris

Beside some other modifications on my sim, I just wanted to change my joint heads with some new angle joint heads. They seem to be very solid, but as soon as I put some more weight resp. force on these angle joint heads (when built in), the head clips off (see att. pic). Is this due to wrong angle in the built-in position or due to low-quality material, or which other hints do you have ? I have seen a few from you guys who also use those angle joint heads...

    Thanks in advance ;D !

Okay, got it working - I changed the angles a little bit to the inner side and after a 2-hours-racing-test no joint head clipped off.

The new dampening bar on the bottom of the back-side is also doing a great job.

I have a new video of my current sim. Sorry for the bad sound - the internal mic isn't that good, I have to use an external one the next time. The squeezing of the SCN5 isn't that noisy as it seems in the video !

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOwCHjoZdQY

I will take my other DV-cam for the next footage, it has more wide angle (but less quality *fg*).

Hope, you enjoy it ;D !

Thanks, Mike - that's my car door :D !!! It's absolutely handy to have the screen and the illuminated keyboard next to you... and, by the way, every car needs a door  (the window nets are still missing - stay tuned *fg*)

How did you end up implementing the dampening bar. Do you have a picture of you setup? I had a failure of my dampeners last week but it may have been due to the fact that I was using a mixture of a 120lb and 70lb dampener on each side. I have switched to 2, 120lb dampeners on each side and they are holding up good so far.

    Hi Mike,

I will take a few pictures the next days and post it here !
I don't know which specs my dampers have, but they are not VERY hard/stiff...

    Here's the second video.

Better sound now, but unfortunately (due to my old cam) less picture quality :? !

But I'm working on it... ;D

    Hi Chris,

You've got a real nice configuration there!
    The driver's door rocks
Listen, I noticed you got a 7 tft display
for revs, speed etc. Can you propose any site to
    buy one for my rig?
    I would really appreciate it.

    Regards,

    John

    Hi John,

I've got mine from ebay approx. one year ago.
I just searched on ebay and found this one: http://cgi.ebay.de/7-VGA-TFT-LCD-To...Monitore_Flachbildschirme?hash=item3efc892d3d - it seems to be exactly the same model, but I've got mine from a German dealer/store, the one here's from Hong Kong.

All of the Touchscreens offered here at the moment have a native resolution of 800x480, but the one I have (and the one mentioned above), has 800x600 !

    Hope this helps...
