Ok so I've done some repairing and upgrading :D

Seen as I was taking the wheel apart thought I would put a new wheel on it :) and also I got a 24V 5amp PSU turned the power up to 28v cut some holes put some fans on it and printed parts to make it all fit together and work. Still got all the buttons working so happy days. 20161229_112716.jpg 20161229_112736.jpg 20161230_185846.jpg 20161230_185855.jpg 20161230_185959.jpg 20161230_190005.jpg

I've just had a few stages on Dirt Rally and all I can say is wow what a difference. On its last legs but the old G27 it's not going out without a fight lol.

Also got a Leo Bonar cable for my pedals and I have ordered some nixim pedal springs and rubber thingy. Still waiting for those to come.

It will all be good until I save up £1300 for a CSWv2 ....... maybe one day

Should of taken more photos but I always forget.

no no, Not at all buddy....the Simucube has made all that old Argon OWS 15-20 separate little items a thing of the past. It honestly couldn't be any simpler.....a Dsub15 connector and a few motor wires is all it really is. Dont be intimidated by it at all....I look at your 6dof and think thats a lot. probably like your looking at the osw....its not the case at all as im sure you would agree with the 6dof, now that you've been at it for a good year or so. :cheers

@SilentChill SimuCUBE is easy. It's a motherboard with one pci card, then you wire the psu (3 wires). Plug in a couple cables and the build is done. It's really that easy. Spend about an hour setting up your mmos and granity and your racing. It's crazy when your wheel force matches your simulator output.

Ok matey I have done a little research. I'm still missing a few bits like buttons and cables but that shouldn't add much to the cost. I need to figure out about a steering wheel and paddles and all that stuff which is confusing me a little.

    Part Link Price
    Motor Mige 130ST-10010 £264.21
    Simucube Simucube £145.00
    Driver ioni driver £180.00
    PSU 400W-48V-8.3Amp-Power-Supply £20.00
    Motor Mount Mige-130ST-M10010-Motor-Mount £49.99
    USB Interface STM32F411E-DISCO £19.99
    DriveLock Bush drivelock-bush DL13 22x47 £14.85
    Case simucube-case-kit £50.00

    Grand Total (IncDel) £744.04

Doesn't look too bad to me if I have not missed anything really expensive :D

Save up. Dont waste on another commercial wheel, when in reality the OSW IS the future.

Ollie is based in the UK Craig ,, Looks like he might be the better option for you price wise ,,, 6 week wait though but his price seems better ,,,, I might go with this kit myself although i really want one of those Fanatec QR adapters from Tomo at simracingbay but he only sells em with his kit's ,,,

    here's Ollies kit link
    https://sim-pli.city/collections/al...drive-wheel-kit-mige-simucube-6-week-dispatch

Edit : saying that when you start adding on the Pro HC & Mige 10000ppr thing go up quite a bit ,,,but yep you got to get a DD for your 6dof beast :grin

You have made me change my mind I will buy a bits myself or a kit or a prebuilt one :D

Thanks for the link matey not come across him yet, pretty good and just under a grand with delivery. Is it worth saving couple of hundred quid doing it myself when I could get that one all ready and setup to go pretty much out the box ?

    I need to start saving

I reckon it all depends on your budget and your time really,,, i suppose if you build it yourself you can put the money you save into the QR and a Rim ,,,
I think i'm just gonna go with a pre built kit to be honest as i've just worked a month solid doing 16 hour days so i've got some cash put aside for a wheel now,,

If your going to save up you might as well buy the gear as your saving and build it yourself..

First get the pro hc it 20 bucks more is all. Same with the big MIGe, it's 20 dollars more, it uses the same mounts etc. and the shipping is the same. Also get the 480/720 peak psu it's 35 dollars more. There is still a few cars that exceed the force on my wheel @ 1:1 force. But not many........
    Also pm sent

Agree on most everything except Ill disagree on the Big mige....Its not needed at all with the ability to OC the small mige.....the Start up inertia is Greatly higher and has been reported that the small mig has slightly more fine grainy details in result of that. and the 720w isn't technically needed....600w is more than enough for the OC.

100% gain on particular cars is a Literal work out on the fore arms...you have to start to remember to use certain arm muscles over other's or your arms will be pooched after a couple laps. so in the end I see little point in going over 30nm.

@SilentChill first i wanna say that your sim is awesome and glad your rig is running again.
the other is with the osw from what i have seen i think you don't need the ST discovery board if you go with simucube .ST discovery board is needed if you go with the ionicube 1x plus more wiring and a break resistor.

+1, Discovery board is not needed at all with the Cube.

you cannot get the output the big mige gets even with OC. for the minimal cost, less than 10%, it is worth it. I now run it at 25amps after a few weeks. this does not mean it is killing me the entire time that is not the point . I can now get the finest detail while clipping the highest forces. more power more detail. 10000 ppr encoder is recommended and comes installed.

I recommend the NDR- 480p-48 PSU for the small MIGe and the SDR-480p-48 for the big MIGe. the one you have listed could cause under voltage issues. the P designation after the 480 just means it can support parallel mode and doesnt add to the cost.

EDIT: I have never tried the smaller MIGe so honestly I cannot say how it compares side by side to the larger one. I will say everyone seems to be really happy either way. So big or small I agree don't waste your money on commercial wheels anymore.

There have been multiple reports from the likes of Tomo and Esa that the Large Mige isn't really required unless you want Stupid level's of FFB. Ya sure if you want a to trade more power for a higher start up torque and higher inertia.. *near double if i recall. Than sure, thats the thing to do.........But most people coming from a commercial wheel (Fanatec/TM/Logitech) are in for a Jump up they likely weren't prepared for in the first place even with the small mige.

Ahhh good point I had not even thought about that. How much does one of these things weigh ? I will go look and see ;)

Edit: Wowow 11.5kg just for the motor
