Hm, how should I say it. The motion looks very good, precise and defined and it feels even better, but... hm, there is no x-sim anymore powering this rig. I am testing a new software because the silence here in this forums afraids me, and this software feels so much better. My old profiles felt spectacular but they never felt precise and realistic like the new ones. . Now I believe my rig what it is doing.

If someone had let me testride the same rig but said he had upgraded some hardware for movement enhancements I would have spend 2000 Euros after that test ride, just because of that big difference.... But it was only software that was changed.

Schaut wirklich super aus..... :) Bemerkenswert, dass die dritte Achse soviel Mehrwert bietet.

Commander 2 is not compatible with wiper motors and 3 won't be either. Only compatible with scn5-6 ... It was also very unstable on my Win7 64 and I hated it ...

Hope Commander 3 is more stable with a better interface ...

@Henning Piez: your rig looks amazing ...

    @ Bleco - I would have appreciated a bug report :)

Of the several thousand users running Commander 2 for X-Sim, there are no known stability issues reported so I suspect yours is an isolated incident that we probably could have resolved rapidly.

As to Commander 3, it was developed on and for Windows 7 so no WIndows 7 related issues are expected or have been identified in early Alpha testing.

And even in Alpha stadium I couldn't find many bugs, some translations here and there and some new ideas.... Works great. Sim Commander 3 will be a great step for motion drivers, I myself never liked the Commanders, because they were based on X-sim. Now the Commander has it's own heart, or better soul. I think you can even see the much more fluid motions, all mixed in effects can be set to different speeds, different travel ranges etc. And, I do one profile for my 3DOF in less then 15 minutes without having to think about it.

All Effects have a fixed name, no number anymore, and so G-Force Braking is G-Force Braking in every game, so you can use every profile in every game now, you just have to click on the Name of the game in the profiles properties.

    Hi Bernard!

Your pretty fast on the replies! I like it! :)

This is getting off topic but you are right I could have contacted you, sorry about that ... I experienced a lot of freezing issues in the software and at some point x-sim was not reconizing my actuators at all... There was also something that could not be uninstalled and I was always getting an error with absolutely no details at Windows session startup. After looking at the process it pointed to a simxperience temp folder with missing file. Sorry I can't remember exactly all the details ... I could have added that not because I didn't liked it that it makes it a bad software... not at all ... some great ideas to simplify all the 'get it the game with motion' process were there ... But for me it was not necessary and I prefered spending time on learning how to use x-sim then to debug the Commander 2, I did not liked the interface a lot.... That being said, I can't wait to try your new Commander 3 ... And if you create game plugins as fast as you reply to post then I am sold! send me the sx-3000 kit!! :D

@Henning Piez: It takes no more then 10min for me to create a very smooth from stratch profile with x-sim. It becomes pretty easy once your used to it. The best is to use profile creation templates. It doesn't take too much recording to get very good values on specific tracks ... You can also easily rename your g-force effects entries...

    Cheers!

That would make sense. The Commander 2 for X-Sim implemented timing setitngs that run well with the SX-3000 but are far too agressive for most off the shelf RS485 adapters. This would manifest itself surely as dropped actuator conections or failure to calibrate and possibly as overal stability issues.

Soon you'll be able to test with the Commander 3 and we can go from there with your issue.

I'm sure glad that the thousands of other users who were unable to figure out how to use X-Sim direclty didnt have these problems with the Commander for X-Sim or my Inbox would be full!

    Hallo Henning,
