Anyone know how to identify and where to buy the two small wire plugs on the inside of the SCN5 plastic cover?

Just to confirm:

This USB->RS485 adapter plugs in and worked immediately:

No setting changes needed (yet) from the interface setup menu (SCN5 motor setup menu). I was able to move my 150mm SCN5 from 1% to 100% and in between.

Hi guys,

I've read the whole thread, but two questions concerning mounting the SCN5 on my rig are left:

1.) I guess, I have to mount the 100mm SCN5's lift rod half way out resp. in the middle position (50mm). Should I pull the lift rod out by hand to the preferred position or is there any possibility to get this done by the electronic or by Software ? I don't want to damage anything...

2.) I plan to use a killswitch as recommended here in the thread and in the Wiki. Does an usual switchable connection strip do the same job (only for killing the power in case of system hang-up it should do) ? Anywhere in this thread I have read that I have to take one of the cables to place the killswitch there... please give me some hint, where the switch should be mounted.

Once you have the actuators connected properly, X-Sim will initiate their calibration, which result in them landing in the centered position.

The switch should be mounted where you can reach it while driving. I do not know what you mean by a switchable connection strip so I cannot comment on that question.

You could always have a powerstrip dedicated to the 24v SCN5 Supply and just flip the switch it in an emergency (I assume that is what he meant).

I would prefer connecting them internally buy connecting the smaller plugs shown above. The number on the plugs are as follows.:

Larger 14-pin Plug # - H JST 14
Smaller 4-Pin Plug # - HJST II 4

Anyone have any ideas where I can buy these?

Bernard, when I talked about a connection strip with a built in switch, I meant something like that:

I will plug the two SCN5 to the strip, place it near to me and can switch off the SCN5-power if the system hangs up. I think, it's the same like a real killswitch - but cheaper ;-)

I've picked up my pair of SCN5 100mm today :yippiee:



Just had to pay 19% EuSt = 95,81Euro. Mirai marked the correct Taric code on the parcel and saved me a lot of explanations this time :thbup:

I'd rather live in your country, because it seems that the clerks in Frankfurt don't want to have such long discussions like here in Augsburg...

Congratulations.
The mine arrived Saturday, it was faster for France. 8)
I paid 36 euro fee :yes: ($ 100 bill for two? ... thank Mirai ! :thbup: )

However, it was not the first time I have picked up SCN5 there, and they seem to have had some more SCN5 going through their office the last few weeks, so they should know their value quite well now...

there is a limit to the number of SCN5 actuators that can I use?
Can I connect 4 SCN5 actuators, 2 for axis x and 2 for the y axis?

Yes, you can use multiple actuators. In your case, just assign 2 actuators as axis 0 and 2 as axis 1,
That way you can move a co-pilot seat syncroneous.
