    Thanks eaorobbie, looking forward to getting this finished. I have now finished the other side of the seat mover, but unfortunately testing shows the universal joint that I had is not up to the task as it lets the seat twist slightly, so I'm off to get another (likely a steering U joint) today as I have a day off work. Still to build the drift frame under the slider frame. I am going to move the heavier frames with a driven spring loaded rubber wheel, with the feedback on its own wheel (in case there is any slippage). This will give me allot more movement and torque (smaller wheel more torque/less speed) then a moving arm and it is simpler than a pulley system. A 50mm wheel (same torque as a 25mm arm) should move the slider frame its full 300mm with these motors in approximately 0.7 seconds so I will see how it goes. I can just change wheel size if I need more response.

    Yes that will work well, So in the end you will end up with 3DOF with Traction Loss.
    Gunna make a cool video.

    Uni , I use an old car tailshaft, the uni joint can be replaced for as little as $8 and its like new again, sim wont wear one out thou.
    If you wish to keep it as you have already fabricated an A frame stabilizer can be added to stop the seat rotating, but I do recommend making the uni nice and solid and no rotation, this will improve the motion cues greatly.

    You are certainly right about the importance of a solid uni-joint. If I wasn't trying to save weight in the moving parts of the frame, I would have gone for a large/solid uni joint, as when I started to test the movement of the seat, any rotation of the joint really upset the wanted motion. Ended up fitting a car steering 'knuckle' which is not too heavy and seems to be working well, have also now added the adjustable frame for the pedals which will move with the slider/drift frame.

    Firing up three of my motors which are now fitted to the frame tomorrow, does anyone have base PID settings for a Worm Drive Motor 12V/24V 200W
    Pololu Jrk 12v12? It would save me allot of time and would certainly be appreciated.

    When setting feedback, heres a vid or two


    In feedback tab, analog samples to 512 or 1024, helps settle it a bit

    Input tab, tick the box - Never sleep (ignore usb suspend)

    I think thats it to start

    No problems, just some optimising of the pot/gearing ratio to maximise the use of the available 4095 points.

    Yep, understood. I recall my gearing on pots used about 3300 of the 4095 I think. I used about 1.8 turns of a 3 turn pot. It worked very well.

    This all can be done in the Jrks Software settings , Feedback tab, but it is better practice to use as much of the pot as possible but at least the Jrk allows this easy to change setting, makes them very flexible for different rigs.

    Connect the frame for the first time to IRacing this afternoon. I was really impressed with the motion, especially the sled axis, this really conveyed breaking/acceleration well. Still have another motor to fit to the frame (drift). Would like to thank everyone who has helped me complete this so far. Will post a video soon.

    Sim is back together after painting and fitting of drift motor. Still have to fit checker plate.- In testing tried 'Live for Speed' - it connects, but there is no data coming out of it even on the Tuning centre - plug-in loaded - any ideas?
