Wouldn't it be awesome if we could make ride films, directly from captured GoPro videos for our simulators?
Me too! And after a week of decoding the gpmf telemetry file, used in gopro's and looks like some other cameras too, I was able to make sense of the data I needed.

It should work for any gopro version 8 and above. I still have a lot of testing to do, but I'm 99% sure I will have this in the v3 Video Ride package when I get there.

Test app shown here... (We can adjust the smoothing value of each output once we know what works well)

Anyway, back to v3 this weekend! :thumbs

Just thinking about it, I think the ideal solution for most users is that the simtools plugin starts when the user clicks 'go' in content manager.

I race in vr so my process is - click 'go' in CM, switch from vr mode to desktop mode, go into simtools, double click plugin play button, switch back to vr mode. Would save a bit of toing and froing :thumbs

brother. Can the V2 purchased now be shared with V3? Does V3 computer language need to be changed?

It will work much like that at the end of the day. The only difference when using content manager would be that the sim centers when content manager starts and parks when it stops.
Other than that, it will stay centered until you click go and recenter after the race.
So i think it will do what you want buddy!

Thanks for the suggestions from yobuddy! Simtools V3 now works well with dirt rally 2.0.
BTW, how can I add the RBR plugin to the Game Plugins section? I have an earlier gameplugin (version 2.0) . Thanks in advance!

Although they once sold their sim as SimTools compatible, they have since switched to closed source control software. We would have to sniff the Com port for incoming movement commands and figure it out from there.
While possible, I don't have one to play with.

SimTools v3 requires new plugins I'm afraid.
So you can't use v2 plugins with v3.

    Update Posted! :thumbs
    Fixed - Manual setting a games launch-link. (thx early_m)
Fixed - Dash outputs now correctly decodes wanted ascii chars <221><0> (and now works up to 32 bit too).
Fixed - Dash now pauses output when the game is not active.
Fixed - Dash global save error.
Added - "Content Manager" as a ProcessName to the ac plugin.

(To use Content Manager, Drag-Drop Content Manager's exe over the ac plugin banner in v3 to set the shortcut for AC to content manager.)

Is Content Manager also used for AssettoCorsa Competizione??
    Chat soon! :cheers

@yobuddy Wow, wonderful this new version of Simtool. I can't wait to try it. I haven't read the whole thread yet and would like to know if it will be possible, like with FlyPT mover, to take the RPM data and redirect it to the actuators. It's really cool this feature, if not is it possible to integrate it.
    thanks :grin

Sure, RPM can be a motion output from a plugin. (We can do that in v2 also btw.)
But v3 is also setup for some future output tests.
Alpha license sent to your Pm buddy.
