Hi I've recently moved on from Xplane 11 with Simtools 2.0 worked perfectly.
I have installed Xplane 12 (non steam) and have followed the Simtools v3 instructions but the motion does not match the plane any at all. The only thing the simulator does is jerk back and forth sometimes violently.

I tested ets2 and Ats with Simtools 3 and they work fine. Has anyone installed Xplane 12 with Simtools V3 and have it working fine.

The rig I'm using is a 4 actuator Thanos Amc aasd-15A

Hi @yobuddy! Glad to to see SimTools in RC phase!

I seem to have a problem with the latest version of V3. Automatic profile selection (Auto) does not always work with AMS2. For example, in this picture, SimTools is connected to the plugin and data is coming in. Car at the track is GTE Corvette. However, the default profile is still turned on. Sometimes it is enough to put Auto off and turn it back on to make SimTools detect a car, but that does not always work. Any idea what could cause this?

Also, recently I have noticed that SimTools stops getting data from the game, while I'm tuning min/max values. I have to select Stop and connect again and that usually fixes it. I have Windows 11 and all the updates are always installed. And SimTools is updated, last yesterday. Windows Security (Defender) is my antivirus. No other security software. What could cause this kind of disconnecting?

EDIT: This view just occured(partial_data): MB GT4 only partially displays data. Capture is on as you can see, I drove around, throttled, braked, spinned etc... Still, nothing but roll, pitch and yaw. Hard to believe that this car would give only that much. So far it hasn't been like this. What is going on...?? :thinkAny help is really appreciated.

Could it be that there is some problem between SimTools and AMS2? What can I try to do to fix this issue? Is it possible that AMS2 works differently now? It is updated to 1.5.6.3.

I have Lenovo T7 with i7-11700 and 32GB RAM (47% used), so these issues should not be due to lack of capacity.

    Hi @GregJam,
Xplane requires some in game settings, did you check the 'Network via UDP' boxes, in 'Data to Output' for these indexes: 3, 17, 37, 66, 135? (if there is a wrong one selected, or one is missing, you may get strange output is why I ask.)

    Hi @Racer54098,
We will give AMS2 a test tomorrow when we get to the PC. (All of what you describe above could be caused by an update to the game, we will know shortly.)
    Chat soon guys!

Hi, can anyone help me setting up Simtools 3.0 for my old DOFReality P3? I recently upgraded my PC and I have to re install Simtools again. The original setup guide was with the old Simtools and DOFReality is now using SRS which I can't use because my P3 still use the old version of control box. I can't find the setup guide for the new Simtools 3.0 anywhere. Thanks in advance

    @Petrus_SM,
v3 is not a ton different than v2, so we should be able to use your v2 setup guide to setup v3. What are you getting stuck on with the setup?

The simulator moves fine when I do the Axis assignments test but it won't move during the game.

Hi, it's working now. For some reasons it doesn't work when I run from Steam and it works when I run from Simtools app. Thanks

    Hi @Racer54098,
I just pushed a SimTools update that should resolve your errors buddy.
Please let SimTools update the next time you launch it, and your errors with AMS2 should be resolved.
Thanks for reporting the error, and please let me know how it goes.
    Take care,

    Hi @Petrus_SM,
So glad you got it working! :thumbs
There is a setting on the options page for v2 style 'auto detect games running' if you would rather use v3 that way. Otherwise by default, it's setup to launch games with a double click of a plugins play button.
    Take care,

    Hello yobuddy,
currently i face an issue and i would like your help.
i cannot start (boot) my pc or cannot shut it down while the servos that are connected to an Arduino board to control a pneumatic g seat with simtools are on power. If i turn off the ac to dc power supply which is connected to my servos then i can boot or shut down my pc.
    Thank you.

This sounds like a grounding problem, where you could be back-feeding power to the usb port. Maybe check all your wiring and see if you find any errors. Do you have a wiring diagram of your setup?

Thank you very much! I got this tested moment ago.

    I did it like this:
    1. AMS2 game open from Steam, monitor only (My Play shortcut is configured to launch VR, this time I did not want VR)
    2. Double-clicked SimTools "Play" to connect to AMS2
    3. Default profile selection on.
    4. On the first attempt, I took the same car (MB GT4) to the track. Profile changed to MB GT4 and data came to all DOFs. So far so good.
    5. I kept SimTools connected to AMS.
    6. I tried to manually change the profile to default.
    7. I went to the main menu and back to the test drive MB GT4. The default profile will NOT change automatically anymore.
    8. When I exit and re-launch SimTools and don't touch the profile, it works again.
    9. Second test: Again, if I change the profile to default or any other car profile, SimTool doesn't change back to a correct car profile, when I go driving from AMS2 main menu.
    10. It doesn't help even if I stop the plugin connection and reconnect.
DOF min/max values seem to flow ok, though.

So maybe not totally ok? I hope this helps.

PS:My forum alias looks pretty boring...default random name&number...I should do something about ito_O

No, It sounds like a wiring problem to me. Maybe the motors are not ground isolated, and they are connected to the frame of the sim?

    Hi @Racer54098,
SimTools only changes profiles when the vehicle changes in the game. So after you do these steps.
After step 6, please change vehicles in the game again, and the profile should auto switch for you as needed. SimTools only tries to switch profiles when the vehicle changes in the game. Since the vehicle has not changed at this point, the user can manually select a different profile to compare then with each other. But if auto is on, and the vehicle changes in the game, then so should the profile.

We could lock the profile drop box when auto is on, and it would keep users from changing the profile, but its nice to be able to compare profiles when tuning in a new vehicle in the game I think.
Anyway, maybe run one more test and see what you find.
    Take care,
    yobuddy
