Hi guys first post to this forum. I have sim wind running using fanboi with iracing. Now looking to get it working with AMS and Dirt Rally using game dash. I have down loaded simtools v1.3 and have game dash 2.0 installed. My question is my games do not show up in game manager and I have enabled dash output tick box but in Game dash there are no games showing in the 'game name' drop down. Also all the pencils are greyed out so not really able to go any further. Welcome views as to what I am doing wrong. Interface settings are set to serial, com4, 9600,8 none,1
    Best Regards, Phil

Game Dash 2 is for SimTools 2, not SimTools 1.3

SimTools 1.3 and associated plugins are no longer maintained, so you are better off moving up to SimTools 2, though for Game Dash functionality you will have to go for a Pro License: https://simtools.us/license/

Has anyone been able to confirm if it works at all with Pcars 2? it could be a plugin problem.

Check the game dash window while the game is running. You should see a speed value in dash 1, if that isn't changing then it might be a plugin problem

I wonder if it is the same bug as the Project Cars 1 bug. In that it doesn't work in some race types.

I have a detailed description of the PCars1 bug over in the plug in discussion for the PCars1 plugin, have a read of that and see if the same applies for PCars2

Thanks @Phaze11111 - this is exactly what I was wrestling with. Haven’t got mine running yet but with this thread I think it’s just a matter of time.

Edit: Mine runs now - almost perfectly! I only say almost because I started PCars 2 this morning and wind didn’t come on. Restarted PCars2 and it did and ever since. For me that looks very occasional. Works in No Limits 2 and Xplane as well.

@Phaze11111 - is wind still working for you? I was trying to drive PCars2 today and no wind. I even updated the plugin to @vthinsel's new version and set the outputs in PCars2 to be PCars2. It was working reliably and now no wind for me. Other wind-enabled applications work fine though.

Discovering this topic thanks to your tag @Zed
Which GameDash output are ou basing your wind simulator on ? Do you see values changing ?

@vthinsel - cool! GameDash has been set for wind in the upper left box for everything else. Dash1. It’s still working great for everything else except PCars2 which used to work. I was running what had been the latest version of plugin (not at computer to check versions but think it was 2.2.0 or something like that. PCars2 was set to use PCars1 memory and such in its menu with 5 as the broadcast number. It stopped working though and I had seen your new plugin that was also for PC so tried that. Unlatched, installed the new plugin, and then patched again. In PCars2 it’s now set to PCars2 for memory and such, speed still set to 5. GameDash still in Dash1 with same settings but doesn’t work either. I haven’t changed anything in GameDash from when it worked to when it doesn’t. New plugin drives my 2 dof platform fine. Just missing wind. And in the Dash1 box, output was staying at 000.

If any of that doesn’t make sense I’m having to go by memory. Can get better answers tonight if needed.

Is GameDash just taking values in order from some structure? Wondering from your question if maybe the wind output is just in a different Dash box?

Thanks! Was hoping to hear if anyone else had lost wind again. Hate being the only data point.

The broadcast number is just about the frequency of updates sent by PC 1 or 2. Small number => many updates.
If output is at 000 then maybe you have an issue with your math calculation ? I also remember having issues with decimal separator at some point of time. Maybe this issue is back :(
    My math is <_DashData_01>MATH * 3,6:ROUND 0:pAD 4 0</_DashData_01>
What has changed between wind and no wind setup : pcars version then ?

Thanks @Phaze11111 - That's good to know and helps me troubleshoot.

@vthinsel - in light of what Phaze said, it sounds like it's something at my end but I am not aware of anything changing. I'll go back over everything and see what's up. I hadn't changed the math section at all but had been tuning responses using the tune function. Maybe I somehow changed something accidentally.

Sorry for the bother. There had been a PCars2 update so I immediately went to thinking that was probably it. It had been working last time I shut things down though so it was surprising to turn it all back on and not have wind. And in between there was that update. But I could just be confused by all the infernal PCars2 "media" updates.

Again, since Phaze's setup is working, it's pretty much guaranteed to not be PCars or the plugin. That leaves me... :blush

Will let you know once I get things sorted. Thanks all! I needs my wind!

Hello everybody , I follow all steps and I have wind, its working, but I don’t know why just work one output of monstermoto, Maybe the controller is damage or is something I did wrong.. And the other question if there is any chance to use one output for speed and the other output for RPM?

    Cheers

To solve the issue with pausing, did anyone tried an extra line of code like:
If speed is constant then set it to 0.
Since speed varies all the time, the only scenario I can think of, is in the pits for cars with speed limiters. might need to run that if test over a 20sec period just to be sure.

I lost wind a while back and it's still gone. Kind of frustrating, really. New PCars2 plugin and all - 2.0.4.0.

Was in flight configuration for a while but switched to driving last night to show off the rig and unfortunately, sound decided to go away for anything that mirrored I think with the last SteamVR beta update. No time to troubleshoot so just put it away. But PCars2 still no wind. Assetto Corsa works great for wind but sound hosed in it too. Dropped out of the SteamVR beta so will see if that fixes sound. Need Game Vibe so don't have to dork with audio mirroring. Sigh.

Did you check to see if an update had overwritten your sound options in settings, if that is not it then opting out of SteamVR beta would be the quick sound fix.

And it was! While I made that post I had the release version of SteamVR downloading. When it completed, everything worked. I had to reselect the mirror option, but that was it. Spent the time since then flying the Aerofly FS2 Bücker Jungmeister. :thumbs

    Guys,

I installed simtools v2 and game dash 2 and Im getting speed info from games. However, when the game starts I have a brief fan activity and them the power supply or my monster moto shuts down. So I need to turn power off for some seconds and the power comes back. Its important to say that Im using iracing fanboi app without any issue. This is only happenning with game dash code that I copied from first page of this thread. Does anyone know what could be happening?

This is probably happing with simtools 2.1 and game dash 2. Didnt happen with older versions.. It looks like something in the code. Anyone having the same problem? I heard a beep sound before MM board shuts down.
