Smc3 issues

    What a great find this was...
    OK it was the motor....
    Stripped it down and found I brush was stuck in the holder and had burn marks around it...
    Also littl bits of carbon across the armature..
    Cleaned it all up and reassembled it she's all go.
    Have attached pics for reference.
    Oh well I have a spare uno and ibt now.
    What is strange though is how when the motor was put across 12 volts it rotated?

    Maybe someone with motor experience might know...

    So glad you persevered with the troubleshooting, it is a pain but ruling possibilities out one by one is the sensible way to go.

    I am guessing at a full 12v there was enough current to overcome the brush issue.

    Yup that's what I reckon too,I had the motor apart already as you replied,we both came to the same conclusion.
