Everything is stiff and doesn't move an inch :)
I wouldnt say "really light". Steel is steel. The seat mounts help making things strong also, and the sliding sections make it also stiffer on the overlapping zone. Overall, no issues at all from my side, I'm happy with my design so far.
The issue I see with your sections is the weight. My 25x25x2 / 30x30x2 make already a quite heavy structure, so using 4mm thickness will make a very very heavy structure. What motors do you plan to put on ? They will have to be strong !
    My 2 cents.

Slightly off-topic, I'm working on a USB button box :)

@vthinsel the universal joint should be as close as possible to the seat to be as realistic in movement as possible. From the pictures yours looks to be inverted, and would give unwanted lateral movement. Just my opinion

Thanks for that. I'm going to build the base frame first and then just clamp my existing rig onto the base to test the setup. Im not using motors, but 4x frex hyperaxis 100 and one scn6 for traction loss. the hyperaxis are capable of lifting 100kg each so shouldnt be a problem but as yours is solid i will go down the lighter route.
