I am trying to build a platform for my child which does not generate too much power. I need a good motion simulator which can simulate a regular car driving maybe max 70mph. I also want help gathering the correct parts and wiring. I would also like some advice on how I would track the wheel, shifter, handbrake and my hand accurately while in VR. Last question I am not sure if I will need a very powerful simulator for this therefore I am wondering if one of the very cheap one would suffice. Please provide an answer to any one of these questions to give me a starting point.

You will find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs to get you started: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

The FAQs have a Design section: https://xsimulator.net/community/faq/design-considerations-resources.24/category

Which includes tools like SimCalc (2DOF), which will help get your head around the tradeoff in design Vs physics. Motor choice is intimately linked to design and desired performance.
