    It does travel through a small arc, so there is a slight surge axis as it does so, that actually works to advantage in breaking and acceleration, particularly when a race harness is used.

    The main benefit is that it is adjustable, if lots of different people use the rig, and as it was designed with a human in mind the calibration scope is right, which is sometimes hard to do with other assisted solutions.
