    Hi,

    If I am correct...? The + is the long wire of the capacitator. No the adaptor can not be switched.

    On my 9V PSU you can change the polarity. For example, i can select the (+) in the middle or in the outside of the connector

    You should take a voltage-meter and check the polarity of your power supply connection. Capacitors explode due to wrong polarity, or if they are very old and dry. But I guess yours have been in new condition before placing them. And recheck your pcb by holding it in front of a strong light source (like the doctors when they watch x-ray pictures :D). You may have soldered a shortcut somewhere.

    Yes I have checked the powersupply and the + is the outside of the jack. Too bad I didn't check that...

    Do I only have to replace the capacitor that blew? Or might other components be damaged too?
    And must I buy another powersupply? Or can this be resolved in another way?

    You must swap the cables on the connector from your PSU.
    Look at this picture, i hope you know what i mean.

    Look at the picture for example, there is a little Plug that you can mount in two directions onto the PSU. So it is possible to change the polarity. But if you do not have such an changeable plug, you can cut the cables for example at the plug and solder it on again at the plug with the correct polarity you need.

    Hi Jeroen

    The PCB has written on it which is PIN1 and PIN16. So you must align it with yours LCD pins accordingly. If you LCD doesn't have them printed on its pins, seek for the datasheet before connecting to avoid burning anything...

    Also be sure that the Pin15 & Pin16 ARE used for backlight power input. There where some cases that the pinout was different. Take a search in this thread for more examples...

    The pins are like this 15 16 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 on the lcd.

    So if I connect pin 15 on the 1 of the pcb and 14 on 16 it must be the right way?

    Where can i find a detailed Partlist for the AMC 1.5b ?? Ich find various lists but theres newer the same parts, what parts i must buy. Is there a pdf like that one from the Dual H Bridge with pictures or so ? Or is there a solder guide like the H-Bridge ?? Thx a lot !!

    I'm building my AVR controller and I must ask dumb questions as I have very little electrical experience. Can someone tell me what the below component is and where I might get it? In pictures it looks like a resistor, but I thought it might be an inductor?

    First and foremost I want to congratulate you all for this great post, Thanos work is excellent.
    I am a beginner in the field, but I always liked electronics and this post inspired me even more.
    I'm just trying to find all components to build your AMC, but here in Argentina is not an easy task, especially atmega8535 or atmega644.

    I am having the same problem as Wannabe...

    Unfortunately I have tried multiple computers and this does not fix it. They are all windows Vista though - has anyone used vista succesfully with ponyprog?
    What should my COM settings be? I have them default now.

    I have selected the Atmega from device menu.

    I'm trying to attach pictures but seems to be an error. I will try again later.

    Off for a holiday weekend, but this will be bothering me! please help guys!
