    Hi Denis,

The way I see its it more complicate to try to make an interface that can control this wheelchair's motor controller, than building simple h-bridges. I think its not going to be easy to help on this, and not sure if its going to work in the end.

You can try feeding analog voltage to the control input of the motor controller to see if you can drive it this way and figure what are the three connector signals meaning.

    Hi!...

I will try to change the wall transformer as i know for sure there's noise on my circuit... about the sensors i think i got the idea, if you see my last post on my topic you will see it already mounted very close to the magnet but firmly secured.

Thanks again for be there everytime we need.

    HI Oscar,

Yes, I've seen your photos. They are close but since the whole pair is not inside the caster there is displacement of the magnetic field and not rotation of the magnetic field. Its not the same thing!! I did it your way first and failed to meet linearity in the SS945 values. Rotation of the magnetic field gives a much better linearity and more precise positioning!!!!!

    Hey guys,
I order the pcb from a company down here in Brazil, they asked if there was a more updated list of parts available. What would be the latest part list around?
Any special comment on the part list if I use a larger motor ??

    thanks

    Hi!...

I have changed the power supply (9v 1.5A) and the data reading is fixed right now!!!

About the sensors... message received. Let me see how i solve it and i will post on my usual topic.

    Thanks and regards.

Been there, tried that idea. The pot problem can be solved with a very expensive set of hollow shaft pots that have infinite mechanical travel and 350 degree electrical roll but you will never get the full revolution due to fact that your wires are going to get wound up in the frame. The nearest you will get is to roll 350 degrees then 'washout' back to normal position. My sim has a roll and pitch angle of 90 degrees which is scary enough, would go further but there are huge monitors that i dont want hitting the floor

I have a question about the AVR motion Controller.

What are the diffrence between the 1.5 and 1.5b board? And witch one am i to choose if I'm going to have the DSMh-bridge 1.2b?

my concern is only that i need 240v power eventually where there is the problem regarding AC reversability. Just too many doubts in the AMC for me but ofcourse an excellent board for everyone else. Massive thanks to Thanos for making the effort with the board and supporting it as I see in all posts. Without seeing the AMC board i would not have the confidence to play with the stepper idea in the first place

The stepper experiment wil be interesting either way.

    Hi,

The only difference between AMC1.5 and AMC1.5b boards are that the AMC1.5b has the extra 74HC08 PWM multiplexing circuit that is now part of the DSMhb1.2b. So you can just use the AMC1.5 board with the DSMhb1.2b.

    Regards, Thanos

PS. I'm thinking that I should remove the AMC1.5b board as I still haven't found it useful...

    Where is the problem?

There are some simple VFD models that work well for motion simulators . First you need one that can hold constant torque even in low speeds. One model you can use as reference is the SJ200-015NFU.

    http://www.driveswarehouse.com/Drives/A ... 15NFU.html

It can be easily interfaced to my AMC since it has 0-10v analog input, and external Forward RUN/STOP, Reverse RUN/STOP commands. Almost no changes in firmware needed for this to run like simple DC motors do on my DSMhb.

    Hi,

I'm too happy today!!! Dimos (my robotics associate) donated me a brand new LCD screen LG Flatron 19'' wide, to use on my joyrider!!

    new_LCD_joyrider1.jpg

I love Flatron screens. All my LCD's are Flatron as you can see:
    new_LCD_joyrider2.jpg

I really like that these screens have standard VESA mounting holes on their back and can be easy attached on any motion platform without risk of detaching during vibration or violent motion.

    Thanks Dimos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great, i assume next time we see your joyrider assembled and with the bigger flatscreen?
The little thing you used before was really inapropriated for your flight sims :D

Btw.Your desk looks the same like my working area on the attic - i call it organized chaos :D

just out of interest, what is the biggest screen known to be loaded on a joyrider without tipping at the end?

I think a 24'' wide screen would be the biggest ever mounted on a joyrider, since its known that the bigger the screen, the bigger it weights...

I also have a 22'' wide on my desktop that will try to mount but it seems little heavy for my PVC made joyrider currently!!

call me a slut but i cant work with anything smaller than 26 :disobedient:

The Wharfedale 26 lcd is the lightest monitor for size/price as I found out while lifting them all in the shop last month (with strange looks from passers by lol)

not quite a geek my gf said :brows: , need to run Ubuntu first to be considered

    Hi,

afaik, currently the highest resolution is 800x600 (for the more expensive ones) and the lumen is just a fraction of a big projector. Using the projector just for something like a infomation display does not bring any advantages than using a small lcd display, but you can bring me right :)
