hello All, thanks for the great info so far

I have been experimenting for days with tgy 1070 , arduino uno , power supply of 7.5 v. all with x-sim not yet simtools as it is also a project that will happen (not two many projects at the same time)
to cut to the chase , i can only output from 1 pin (not 2 as in version 2 of the code posted) .
my question is what would be a type code to write in the USO matching the arduino code 2 posted ?
    thanks

In this version of your seat how many servos do you use on the back panels? 1 or 2 each panel?
I have some Savox sc-1256 20kg/cm servos and am thinking that this version of your seat would require less force than the first version. Would appreciate your comments.

the following instructions seem to work . I mean data is flowing and motion is happening.
S R~a06~~4~L~a07~~5~; R~a08~~4~L~a09~~5~E . i dont know if is as it should be but motion is happening.
I need some adjustement in x-sim hopefully for a more meaningfull motion. Next step is to build a wooden chair (top and bottom) and then if all is good i will have to buy a kirkey seat and transpose what i learned so far..... (before that final stage transpose my rig from x-sim to simtool and evaluate ...)

i d like to say thank you to Martin, Eaorobbie , Aarondc and anyone who participated in this informations and arduino codes. I would not be able to get that far on my own . many thanks!!!

    Hi Guys,

I have one of the Simxperience seats and after looking at how it is built I am going to do a DIY version.
I am going to try and reduce the number of servos needed and make it a little more comfortable.
It takes 4 servos for panel at minimum $39 ea that is 16 servos x $39
The simxperience Gs4 with the Simcommander software is very nice kit, but far out of reach $$$ for most people

I have very good mechanical skills. Can Tig Weld and program and run CNC Mill.
But my electronic skills are weak!!!!! I hope we can help each other.

Here is a link to the board that is used in the GS4 http://www.yeitechnology.com/servocenter
It is the USB 4.1 Anybody have any experience with these?

Hi @slingshot, very interested in what you're planning. I picked up a used Kirkey seat some time ago but owing to a major problem in my personal life I haven't had a chance to do anything with it. I was planning on using Turnigy TGY-S8166M servo's which I believe is the same as the GS-4 seat uses, together with a couple of Arduino boards and @eaorobbie's code as @noorbeast suggests (@eaorobbie is very helpful). I have plenty of photo's of the GS-4 seat but due to lack of dimensions not really enough to give to a fabricator friend of mine in order to get my Kirkey seat converted. I would like to keep a close eye on your progress, either in this thread or a new thread if you start one.

    Hi Roadster2

I will start a new thread as not to derail Martins.
The GS4 uses 4 High Tech HS-805BB+ MEGA 1/4 SCALE SERVO per panel. That is a total of 16 Per seat avg price USA $40ea

I am getting ready to torture test some Savox 0236 servos
    http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SV0236MG_Digital_Servo_p/savsv0236mg.htm

I am hoping to reduce the servo count to 2 per panel. The Savox are expensive $105 -$129 USA so total price for servos will still be about the same. But these servos have a very good reputation. And reducing servo count to 2 per panel will greatly reduce the complexity of the Gseat.

So this will still be a $1000.00 + project, but the end result will be a more component oriented design.

Your Kirkey seat needs to be the 17inch wide seat to be the same as the Simxperience GS4
I have been told this is the seat they used initially and modified it
    https://www.kirkeyracing.com/product/10/16800/SEAT-ALUMINUM-17.5-ECONOMY-DRAG#

The GS4 I have is clearly not the same seat. It looks like it was made in sections so that all the holes can be machined in the flat then bent up.

Just to make it clear I was involved with Gseats long before Simxperience and I am not trying to steal their design!
I just like that they came up with a product for $2500 instead of $40,000.
And it has inspired me to make a better G seat.

I will be designing my seat as a bottom section and back section which will be able to be installed in different shells lets say.

I will PM you when I have some working drawings you can use.

hello i have motion but eratic motion . the motion is crazy and not stopping. Maybe i ll ve more control with simtools but still need i guess a period of time to get thing running and learm about it .
I ve been x-sim user for 3 years . I have 3 snc5 for motion , x-sim controls also 2 other axes for a bass tranducer . That is 5 axis so far. simtools controls 6 axis maximum to my understanding. that is one of my concerns about simtools. can someone confirm this?
so far i burned two servos as i should have adjusted de voltage a bit lower (6.5 v should be good and enough with the turnigy 40kg) . I also noticed that the servo get very very hot because of the crazy motion and twitching .
any idea what i should do next ? that crazy motion or twitching could be reduced (or eliminated) via the motion softare (x-sim or simtools)
    little tips will be appreciated

Can you please give more detail as to what you have already done @abs, particularly how you have things wired up and what SimTool settings you are using. Please do create a separate thread for info relating to your problem and possible solutions others may add.

Thanks I was thinking of buying the SimXperience GS-4 G-Seat
but now I just might change my mind and build one.

You may want to look at this build http://meintourenbuch.net/simpit/index

This build would suit the kit I have for sale

How did you solve this in the end? I am looking at making a gseat but on first tests I cant get the servos to work as intended (negative values go to one servo, positive values to the other). Can you post your code and settings? Thanks

Does it matter if analog or digital servos are used?
