    You're wrong, the removable bends have about 12 cm/2 of surface area, the datasheet lists 214kg cm/2 lap shear strength, which is the way the bend was designed, so it's not possible to "peel" it loose, this is the same for all epoxy'd parts, they are all in either shear designs or in a combination of shear and peel, the bottom mounts for the actuators are like this, they have around 6 cm/2 of sheer surface per actuator with around 9 cm/2 of peel surface. Unfortunately the datasheet doesn't list typical peel strength so if we go by sheer only it will require over 1200kg of force to remove. The removable bends will be double that, at 2400kg, they run in tandem so that's 4800kg, the permanent bends are double that so 4800kg/9600kg. The supplier told me the aluminium would fail before the joint does and I didn't really believe him, thought it was just sales talk. But even if the joint is just 15% the strength of the datasheet numbers it's still significantly higher than required.

    It's coming very soon, some last updates to improve the stiffness of the platform happening and I'll upload it.

    Something else in the meantime, I've got some new drivers with much higher startup current, so I did a side by side, old driver on the bottom, new driver on the top.

    Currently stuck in a motion controller black hole... But the platform is sorted, need to add the top bracing next and hopefully get some working AMC1280 code soon.

    Thanks, I'm busy with a small gear reducer on the encoder, which is turning out to be quite tricky, finding local stock of miniature gears is almost impossible, couldn't get the AMC1280 to count multiple turns so for now I'll run a 4:1 reducer.

    Hey Jonathan,

    Can you change the acceleration setting on your servo drives?

    By default my servo had 100ms ramp up down that was causing overshooting....

    Was 100ms too high?
    I had it set on 10ms, it was pretty damn fast, could only touch it very briefly with manual input and it would move 250-300mm, but it was probably the SSI encoders, I've pulled all the AMC1280USB related stuff already though, for now I'm working on a new solution.

    Almost done sorting out the motion, so, so close! I'll send out an announcement since there are a lot of upgrades on the chassis, electronics, electrics, actuators etc. that's been finalized while I've been struggling with the motion, so the "2018 version" looks a lot different and has a lot of improvements over the initial concept/design.
