I did 5:40.2 some months ago, tried again today with that settings but drove almost 10 secs slower, seems that 1.2.4 is a lot different to drive, gotta get used to the new ffb

Is that your real FOV you run Noor ? Height wise your off quite a bit, Do you know you now have the ability to use the Actual animated Driver's Eye position ? On the Cam setting app, Bottom right. Try that. Or wait...occulus....how does that all play into it with FOV ?

All FCM cars for the last few updates have had the proper #'s manually imputed by the guys. this new app does it for you.

Curious what your tuning center #'s are for AC. ?

You guessed right @Nick Moxley, FOV is important for the Rift. Generally speaking with the Rift most find a FOV 90-100 to be about right.

Unfortunately the menus are not implemented for the Rift, so you can't access FOV controls or car setting when using the Rift. That is a real limitation at the moment and not one I expect will change until consumer VR is launched. The menu does now have a save for VR option in FOV setting, formally you had to edit the config file.

For the video I just threw it up on the projector to test out your recommendation to try the FW31. It is actually a good car for VR as it handles well on default settings, which obviously you are stuck with in VR unless you want to make a mod car with your own personal settings..

Yes @Nick Moxley it renders the Rift unusable for anyone who wants to race AC competitively, which is a real shame as it really is an awesome experience, particularly with motion. I had hoped the menus would have been addressed before now but as they have not then they must be pretty low on the priority list and hence I think unlikely until there is a real consumer option and demand.

Correct, Stefano(lead coder on AC) Mentioned on one of his live steams, they wont finalize/implement anything else till Essentially Oculus does....So Q1 it is.

    Hi
I have just seen your comp spec and was wondering what kind of fps you would be getting running Assetto Corsa.

Im actually down to a Single 670 now due to one failing on me, and can easily run 100fps in hotlap mode, 16-20 AI and it drops down to 60-70 with dips here and there pending what the game is doing. With the 2nd 670 it was up around 190-200fps

Im in the market for a new card, but might wait it out for some of the new stuff on the horizon.

That really good then as your system is about the same as what im building and was concerned regarding the oculus rift and what it needs to run ok and mainly needs above 60 fps ideal 75 fps i think, was abit worried about one card and how well it would run, i dont think oculus supports sli tho, i have the same cards myself but the 2gb versions.

If your running 2- 670's you'll be Fine.....Noor can answer the SLI possibilities as i know Nothing, nada, Zilch about the limitations of the occulus.

Hey Noor do you have a Guide at all for the rift ? Ive heard its not exactly plug and play with AC.

SLI and the Rift do not play nice, too much induced latency with the current generations of cards, so stick with a single card. These are the recommended specs for the Rift and I would advise not to skimp on the graphics card, it is crucial to ensuring a reasonable experience: https://www.oculus.com/en-us/blog/t...pc-sdk-0-6-released-and-mobile-vr-jam-voting/

Is this still true for the rift? I was forced to update my AC a month or two ago and the menus are now all in 3d when using Nvidia 3dVision at least! They were not prior to the update.

Yes @BlazinH, when you launch the car in AC with the Rift it bypasses the menu screen altogether.

That's a real bummer!:( That explains why I haven't been hearing you rift guys say how great it is now. With 3dVision, the secondary menu just prior to launching a car has always been in 3d (since I purchased it a few months ago at least) but the primary menu was not. But it is now!:)

Btw, thanks noorbeast for posting new great steam deals! I picked up AC with the dream pack after you posted it was on sale for $35 for the pair.:p

Thus far with the Rift you need to have the primary AC menu open on the monitor to use it and when the car is launched it skips the secondary menu and all associate controls, which cripples the Rift for competitive game play. Both menus need to be re-implemented for VR and I don't see that happening until consumer VR is launched next year.

Oculus has also killed off extended screen mode in the latest runtime release, which AC relies on at the moment, so there will be no further improvements until AC VR is implemented.

The other big question for devs is how to best implement VR. Do you stay locked to the Oculus runtime and hence the Rift or do you move to SteamVR which then allows you to deploy to multiple VR headsets like the Rift and Vive. If you are not directly funded by Oculus as a dev it seems to me that it makes far more commercial sense to go with SteamVR, but I guess time will tell.
