    Re: SCN5 available online

Well, in first instance I want SCN5 support in X-Sim to be able to mount them in my own rack. But of course I like to share our efforts as well for free with the Frex cockpit owners out there

    Re: SCN5 available online

Christian, what about a small ad in Gtr30 , maybe there are 2-3 guys which are interested, also in VR ?

And yes, you are right with the dustbuster, on every update of the software frex has to do one and there is no chance to do it by the software developer since he never did a sdk or something ... Thats a shame ! This is the only reason why i sold it, the actuators are great. They are fast, reliable etc.

    Re: SCN5 available online

Honestly, I dont want to penetrate even more forums by myself with my X-Sim related posts, as I've done this perhaps even too often in the past, as you know :D

But If you think it would be helpful to post there a little support request, then go on

I even would like to have 20+ supporters, as everyone just would have to give <20$ instead of 40$ then.

    Regards
    Christian

    Hey M8!

Do you mean SCM owner are bad people? :(

As I told before, we (SCM owner) have basically two options:
    1. Sell it.
    2. Make is work with x-Sim or other sw better supported.

As things are going from Frex support today, I can see we will be left alone in the dark soon.

    Your help is appreciated.
I sure will help as much as I can! :hi:

    Cheers,

    Me

I like the idea to cut the RS232 from the middle field.
That is why I posted the USB to RS485 converter, first one from my search... Sorry if it is expensive! :(
There might be a cheaper one available.

What you think about this one?
    http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-to-RS-485-Conve ... otohosting

    Hum... I think I will buy 2, I need 2 of them, right? :)

    Cheers,

    Re: SCN5 available online

    afaik gift means present!?

Please keep in mind, that we have been a german forum initially. I had a hard time to bring the english language in here.
Some sentences even may be translated via babelfish. So please dont take all verbatim, cause we arent native english speakears, and some sentences my sound a little way-out

Received a confirmation for 40$ from an additional, anonymous, donator... thanks

Please keep in mind, that we likely will REMEMBER who has NOT donated, for further updates/releases :D

So everybody, who wants SCN5 support in X-Sim should contribute by supporting the developer and community

It's always a give and take... isnt it?

    Re: SCN5 available online

Let me add a few things more....

Actually yes! Two identical circuits but with different USB PID name on each! The left one could be named x-scn5-left and the right x-scn5-right! The FTDI gives a little program for this reason that allows modifications on the FT232R epprom memory. It can be found in this link: http://www.ftdichip.com/Resources/Utilities.htm#MProg

The plugin that Sirnoname will write can recognize automatically each of the actuators by its USB PID name!!

    Regards, Thanos

PS. Congrats! I didn't expect so many volunteers for the donation!!!

Great, this will eliminate the need of the $$$ CTA programming tool, which purpose would have been to assign them numbers left 1, right 2 ,only :yippiee:

Ok, seems we have the minium number of supporters.

But I hope there will be some guys more, who will contribute, as every additional supporter will reduce the amount of the individual donation.

C'mon guys, let's reduce those 40$ to 20$. Some more donations

Due to the need of the CTA programming tool, in case we didnt use USB, there is no option in that case.
I had a chat with a Mirai salesman, and he told me that they cannot deliver the actuators with other settings than default. And default means -> all acutators are assigned as #0
To change that we would have to order the CTA, or the TBVST software.

So we need in any case a USB->RS485 converter, which gives every acutator a unique PID, to differ them between left and right.

    @Thanos
Have you been able to find a source for a suitable ftdi chip already?
