    Hi,
Think I found this post just in time. I'm very interested in dyadic actuator support for X-Sim. I'm willing to contribute to the SCN5 fund.
Also, I happen to live in Orlando, FL and a local company, FloMoCo (Florida Motion and Control) is the Florida distributor for Dyadic. I spoke with one of the sales reps on the phone and he told me I could come down and see a demo of the products, etc. I don't know if anyone had any questions to pass along to their rep ... maybe ask about buying without certain cables or something?
Attached is their automation line card.

    flomoco_auto_110.pdf

In any case, I'll be following this thread so let me know when it is time to paypal some cash for the test actuator.

(ps, I have no financial or other ties to this company... I was just pleasantly surprised the other day to find that I have a distributor in my city)

    Hi CMM83, Welcome!

    Thanks for your donation offer.

There are plenty of suppliers who sell them for the same price. But I want to purchase them from Mirai intertech because:
    1. They are the main supplier for Europe/USA (every other supplier gets them from Mirai' stock in Canada)
    2. They are able to aid us best in terms of technical issues.
    3. Their salesman offered me help with the implementation (after showing him my SimforceGT, and telling him that we are a community, which is intersted in building Frex like Sims with SCN5 ;D)
    4. He offered me the TBVST software, though I think we wont need it anyway when using USB/485 converter.

Actually, the following quote from one of their salesmen is the reason why I've decided that Mirai would be the best supplier:
I guess besides commercial interestes, he is a young guy who is amazed by simulators too :D

Its a pity that we havent reached at least the 15 supporters mark. But well, I will request a total on Monday, then we are able to start the donation procedure to yobuddys paypal account. (I hope you wont forget to add paypal fees, and be aware of the currency rate)

    @yobuddy
Dont know how you want to manage it regarding your paypal adress.

    Regards
    Christian

    Currently we are 15 supporters.

We will receive most likely tomorrow a quote from Mirai intertech. Then we will be able to devide the total with 15, in case there wont be some additional supporters until tomorrow.

    Hey pals,

We havent received a total yet, but here is the almost the entire email communication I had with Mirai intertech until yet.

I thought you might find it interesting.
Adresses, names and phone numbers have been removed.

You may find it wise to begin reading from the bottom to the top ;P

And for all those who are asking why Sirnoname needs an test actuator at face to code an interface plugin.

Please have a look into the pdf file from Mirai, regarding the command string for the SCN5, which I've attached in the middle of the post above.
Just in case you are still thinking that it would be as easy to control them like to drive a DC motor with a plus and minus cable ;D

    Christian

    Hi Chris,

thank you for all the details. Actually, very interesting!

Hope, there will be more buyers than donators later, if everything goes well :D

And I guess those who havent contributed are the first ones in the line when the plugin will be available^^

Still some time to take part!

Btw, we will import them directly from Mirai. Therfor there we will have to add 5% duty rate and 19% EUSt (turnover tax on imports).

I can give you a more detailed calculation once we have the invoice from Mirai including shipping, as the shipping will be part of the EUSt as well, unfortunatly :(

What a luck for those, who are living in America, and dont have to pay EUSt for importing them...

I hope that is ok for you, still

Well, we have to pay them even twice (->America, ->Germany), and on top the earnings of Mirai. If you keep in mind that Dyadic.co.jp sells the SCN5 for ~22000 Japan Yen = ~200$^^

But Dyadic does not sell us them directly. We've tried to purchase them directly some time ago, but have been linked to Mirai without receiving a single word from Dyadic...

But well, it is like that and we have to deal with it :highfive:

What is this about Mirai in Canada?

Those duties are charged by our own customs here in Germany. It does not make any differnence if Canada or USA, I think.

I am waiting for the quote still. Mirai requested my adress, to calculate the overall costs including prepaid shipping. Perhaps their computer has a problem to allocate the little city I do live in the suburb of Frankfurt.
I want the actuator delivered to me, so Sirnoname won't need to pick it up at the customs office. And I am pretty sure that it has to be picked up there.
Then I will send it immediatly to Sirnoname via ground parcel service.

Think, that depends on the parcel service and the kind of packaging. I ordered parts from asia in the past, and i never had to pay any duties :? Mirai can declare the package as a gift Or should i say present? :D Soory, i am just kidding -( it´s an insider joke).

Btw. I found a actuator with very similar look and specs for a small price:
    http://de.farnell.com/jsp/search/browse ... 768+500003
    Manufacturer: http://www.intelligentactuator.com/robo_cylinders.php

Unfortuanetely that modell is no more available. Farnell DE, UK, KR etc... It´s a little bit off topic, but interesting, isn`t it? Anyone knows that acts.?

    Well, you've had luck obviously.

But even on presents, duty has to be payed, if the value rises above ~45Euro.
What do you think, would the customs officer believe me, if I'd tell him, that someone presents me a mechatronics acutator?^^
They will see it with their X-ray scanners...

I dont want to get in trouble in the customs office, nor I want to have to pay the duties out of my own pocket, in case they'll catch me^^

We will import it correctly, and nobody will get in trouble

    Update:

Depending on the shipping option, the total for Mirai is 445$, if we select the small packet international air.

Including duties and tax we should have following costs.

    (400$ +45$) * 1,05 duty rate = 468$

    468$ * 1,20 (EUSt) = 560$ or 358€ (total for duties and tax = ~115$ or 73,70€)

    -> individual donation = 560$ /16 donators = 35$ or 22,50€

If that is ok for you, we should start the donation procedure to yobuddy' paypal adress now.
Please dont forget to add the paypal fees to your donation!

    Regards
    Christian
