Since there is no section for F1 2010 profiles yet. I'll post it here and the mods can move it to the appropriate place when there is one.

As mentioned, it's still work in progress:

It's designed for 150mm SCN5's, Speed 22500, Acceleration 600 set in the synaptrix. Designed with 25% limiter on in SN5 plugin.

    Enjoy

I'm really loving this game so far. The physics are very good, the FOV is good and I've been able to tweak the sound a bit better but it could use a little more work. I also forced DX11 in the config file for a test and noticed some really nice water effects while racing in the rain at Monza.

Here is an updated profile as the earlier one had a bug and I also tweaked a few more values.

I have a video of me driving in Singapur at night (what a disaster.....lol) but it was lots of run. Video is uploading to Youtube now and I'll post a link shortly.

I'm sure X-sim is the first to have motion available for F1 2010 :yippiee:

    Mike,

are you using hd5970 radeon cards?

i'm building a comp with the gtx480 so I suppose i will get same texture effect as you.

Now for my main question: Take away the rain. On dry racing. What are the graphics like ?

Are they jaw dropping? Is the draw distance and anti aliasing hold up well against GTR2, Iracing?

Excellent news! I cannot wait to try the game!

@Mike: Do you have the rear traction loss on the Stage IV? It would make it much more fun!

    Thanks guys.

@Henning. The wheel works great. I'm planning to try the DIRT2 SLI-Pro drivers to see if I can get the SLI display working in F1

@Fahim. I have a 5970 and a 5870 in a crossfire configuration. Crossfire is disabled in this video and I am just running with one GPU on the 5970 over clocked to 850/1200. I'll continue to test today to see if I can get all 3 GPU's to work properly. The graphics are jaw dopping all around and are much better than GTR. I think the track detail is comparable to iRacing but F1 has better effects like dust and dirt on tires etc. The draw distance is also holds up very well against them both.

@Sirnoname. I'm running at 5760x1080 with 4xAA enabled in the game and all graphic settings on High. I have ATI's bezel compensation enabled so the actual compensated resolution communicated to the OS is 6120x1080.

@Frakk. Yes, I have the rear traction loss on the stage IV and it works very well with F1 :)

@Ego. Thanks for creating the F1 2010 section. I will post the profile there now.

    Henning,

If you are using the Steam version, make sure you update the config file in the My Documents folder and not the one located in the Steam folder. F1 works just like DIRT 2 so you will need to select the DIRT2 plugin and update the config file with the IP of 127.0.0.1.

For full screen, try hitting ALT-ENTER to see if that helps.

Mike ... thx for your updated profile, will test it tonight... :)

Am I the only one not being so excited about this game!!??

    I must be anti-codemasters...
Why the hell can't we play easily with the FOV settings on PC version without modding some obscure crypted files ... And what about theses slow loading times and BS menus ...

On 3 monitors setup, for me side monitors are just killing the immersion on cars that have high side pannels cockpits (like on Mike's video) ... They are huge with default FOV!! I also would have liked more visual road bumps effects and FOV increase/decrease according to accel and braking...

Still... it's a new game and it's always fun to try new releases... maybe my opinion will change after more tests ...

    Hi Bleco,

I agree that the game is not perfect but I think they will make it better over time. I personally do not like the excessive FOV changes that most of the rFactor and Simbin mods implement as I don't feel that they are very realistic. I usually reduce their effect in the PLR files and just rely on the motion of the sim. Iracing has the best sense of speed in my opinion and it does not have cabin shake or FOV changes while driving so this effect can be properly accomplished if the frame rates are high enough.

If you are sitting in a real F1 cockpit, most have high side panels so I'm not sure why you have an issue with the high side panels in the sim. In rFactor, you can adjust the seating position but it would not be realistic if you're driving in a position that puts you way above the side panels or dash.

Again, I think you are right about things needing improvement, but I'm enjoying it for what it brings in the way of decent weather physics and nicely done tracks and cars.

... yeah ... maybe I am just anti codemasters... :)

Will try to tweak the camera files to see if something can be done to fill my needs. I also think that rFactor default camera shaking is too excessif and I have also reduce that default value. But still I think that a little shaking adds some sense of speed.

As for new weather system and general graphic enhancement, well I wish I had a tripple GPU setup like you'res cause it's so demanding on triple screen setup!!

I do agree that a little shaking adds to the sense of speed and please let me know if you find any way to adjust the camera files.

As for the graphics, I'm currently running on just one GPU since crossfire is not working properly with F1 2010. Ati did include a profile for it in their latest 10.9 drivers but it does not seem to work at all.

@Sirnoname, I'll try and get to the tut for the autodetection feature later today.

Also, there was an option in the hardware_settings_config.xml file (<directx forcedx9=true />). I assumed that changing this to false enables DX11. I tried it and it does add additional visual effects.

Are you using the Steam version or a stand alone version. Also, I have extradata=1 on mine.
