    Welcome @chdem100.

You can put a general question in the Q&A / FAQ sub forum, but it is better to start your own build thread in the Projects section and raise all questions as well as document your build: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

That way members can provide insights, suggestions and help, knowing the full context for your particular project.

For example, combing several wormdives for the same axis is not impossible, but is complex, because the hardware, even though the same, can differ in performance and potentially working against, rather than for efficiency in motion simulation.

Please do check the FAQs before raising a question, to see if it is already covered: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

You can also search for specific types of projects/information using the Google Custom Search function on the Recent page: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/find-new/posts?recent=1

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

    Good luck with your project.

Thanks, will do, and have to say your own DX-Racer project is giving me a good impression of what may work!

Hello, everybody. I'm starting a new 2DOF or 3DOF simulator project. I'm not clear about it yet. I leave from scratch. And right now I'm designing the cokpit for your plywood cut with CNC machine.
I hope to take pictures shortly. Greetings to everyone

    Hello to all
    i am Jim
    glad to join your community!!!

I am an il2 sturmovik simmer , i fly exclusively only this flight simulator with hp reverb g2 vr headset and i want to make my own motion simulation platform.

Can you please make any possible suggestions for a robust ( i am a big guy) , if possible cheap, fast, with high angles ( pitch, roll, yaw) motion platform ( with a detailes tutorial for a newbie like me)?

    Thank you in advance!!!

    Welcome @dgiatr.

Many of us started in the same place you are now, with a grand idea, a willingness to learn. May I suggest first spending some time researching and planning, particularly as your use case is very specific. For example, many think large axis movements are better, but it is more complicated than that, particularly when using VR, as speed and precision of movement are far more important that how big an axis movement it. There are also alternatives you may not have thought of, like G-Seats and G-Pressure systems, that can produced sustained forces a traditional motion rig can't: https://xsimulator.net/community/faq/gseat.20/category

You will find plenty of helpful information like this in the FAQs, to get you started: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

Hi guys, Im Jacoby from Croatia.
Currently I have a static rig, mostly for flight sims like dcs, but ocasionally i play racing sims as well.
Been lurking for a while, since I was into building motion sim for a quite a few years now, but i think I am finally ready to pull the trigger.

Hello, after post some messages and my first thread I noticed that I don't introduced myself here. That was because the lag between my first login and mi first message, I'm an absent-minded, I'm sorry.

Well, I'm from València but living in Catalunya, I'm professor and I like fly very much but I can't be a professional pilot due a little acoustic problem so I will be a private pilot. Meanwhile I'm a flight simer and have some skills in mechanics but strong skills programming and electrics-electronics.

I'll help whoever that I can help.

    Cheers!

    Hello everyone.

I didn't follow the usual order.
In fact, I have often read the posts on your forum but I was not registered.

For a brief presentation, I live in the south of France and I build a 6DOF plane/car simulator in my free time.

As an old IFR pilot, I would like to make a fully functional cockpit for a single-seater.

    Welcome @GRAP

Glad to hear you are stepping out of the shadows and commencing your build.

Any 6DOF is an ambitious first project. So doing some research before getting in any deeper is time well spent.

Bounce your plans and shopping list off members before jumping down what can be an expensive rabbit hole, if you get it wrong.

Use the Enhanced Google Search on the Recent page to find the latest member 6DOF projects, as there have been many refinements to how members build 6DOF rigs.

You will also find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs, including a section on 6DOF rigs: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Good luck with your project.

    Hi Guys ,

My name is Ryan, from New Zealand. I work as a sparky and love all things motorsport I think I have found the perfect project to tackle while I have some extra spare time!
I found Xsimulator only a short time ago and have been lurking around reading and learning as much as I can.

My plan is to build a 2 DOF + Traction loss rig for starters and then well see how that goes.
It will be mainly built from wood until the prototype is proven and I have a shed to work from haha

I have been reading the wealth of information on the forums and also found a couple of members youtube channels, @dmax and @dr ADHD are a couple that come to mind.
Also a thankyou to Noorbeast for how much effort you put in to helping new members from what I have seen.

I will get a build thread started soon

    Cheers!
    Ryan

Welcome @Rypaz, you seem to have a solid plan and I look forward to following your build, once you start your project thread.

There is as you say a wealth of information here, and many members who freely give of their time and expertise, so take advantage of that and post your plans and shopping list before diving in too deep, it can help save time, money and frustration.

Hi my name is Brian (Beezer is my nick name) I found this site while searching for 2DOF sim rigs for my son (and me ;)), he loves sim racing and we think that adding motion to his current rig (stationary with racing seat and Logitech G923) will add a needed degree of realism. We are looking into building our own suspended 2DOF rig.

So far, we have the Motors, Drivers, PSU, and some lengths of steel. Now we just need inspiration (the reason I'm here) and time.

Thank you to the XSimulator.net community and its moderators for gathering so much information in one place.
